In June the club celebrated its 80th anniversary with a week-end of fun and friendship.
We were joined by representatives from our Friendship Links at Birkerod(Denmark) Apeldoorn (Holland) and Cologne (Germany).
On Saturday (25th) our guests from abroad were treated to a tour of the Cotswolds including a visit to the Snowshill Lavender Fields, Broadway and Chipping Camden. In the evening they were joined by club members for an informal supper at Santosh Kundi’s home. As well as good food we compared notes on Soroptimism as practiced in different countries.
Sunday (26th) was the actual anniversary of the club’s charter and fifty Soroptimists and guests attended a celebratory lunch at Warwick Masonic Rooms. Our guest of honour was Ann Hodgson, President Elect of Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland(SIGBI). Other guests included Midland Regional President Su Roxbrough and the Chairman of Warwick District Council, Councillor Jane Knight as well as members from neighbouring clubs.
